I have been a teacher in the Madison County School System since 1994. My career started at Madison Cross Roads teaching sixth grade science. I moved, with the 5th – 8th grade teachers, to the newly created Sparkman Middle School in 1999. There I taught 6th and 8th grade science. In 2004, I transferred to Sparkman High School and taught Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Marine Biology, and AP Biology. For the past three years, I have taught Biology and CP Biology at Sparkman Ninth Grade School.
In 2008, I was recognized as Madison County Schools “Secondary Teacher of the Year” and was named in 2014 as one of the “NMSI Top 10 Teachers”. I am a graduate of Athens State University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree, along with a Middle School endorsement, in Secondary Education Biology and Psychology. I received my Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Biology from the University of Alabama.
I live in Madison with my husband, Greg. We have a daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoys spending time with my family and friends, traveling, shopping, gardening, going to the movies and Alabama football games.
